Hello everyone,

I have a 2012 X5 35i 8AT

I recently started to have an issue with the transmission. When driving and at around 6th gear, she start to hesitate and I get the transmission gear light and warning on my screen. I checked for codes and this is what came up.

34B2 - EGS: Electronic emergency operation active.

I then stopped and turned the vehicle off and on, the code goes away. However, it comes back when driving, if I push a bit on six gear. I can shift it manually and kinda skip 6th and she will drive fine. A BMW mechanic that used to work at the dealer scanned it with his computer, the computer answer was to replace the transmission, which is about $10k. I'm looking for second opinions and see if this has happened to anyone else. I believe it can be come electrical module and that can be solve with way less than $10K.
