Some small modifications through coding

Today is a good day!!

I got a 2011 E70 back on June. It really bothers me when I lock the car these mirrors won't fold it automatically (and Mercedes has it). I started my research on all the BMW forums. I found couple guys who can do it. At first, I really want to just find someone locally so if anything happens I can just go back to him, however, it didn't work out that way. Instead I found Patryk in Poland. He really did a great job. Very simple steps to follow. All you need is a notebook and internet access. Just want to share this experience with all you guys because i did learn a lot from this forum and now it's my time to pay back.

Here is the list for what I have done to my car through coding.

Enable digital speed to the display on my speedometer
(It’s really a great feature to have it. When you don't have it, you won't notice, but once you have it, you can't live without.)

Enable DVD-in-motion (only for the CIC)
(My gf loves this. Finally, I found a way to keep her mouth shut when I am driving, lol.)

Enable Euro front blinkers (disable US Side markers)
(It makes the car a sportier look)

Enable remote folding mirrors and windows/sunroof opening/closing
(Don’t have a picture for it but basically you have the choice to close all the windows and fold both mirrors when you lock the car by just press the key for 2 sec)

Enable remote trunk opening/closing (X5/X6 only)
(Don’t have a picture either but its' also a great feature, especially for the closing part)

Overall, I know these are just some small things to the car but I really feel my car is now completed and I enjoy every sec when driving it.

Wow, sounds Awesome...

I am very interested in all of the mods that you have made...can you please provide more info on How I can do the same mods to my X5?

1. you say you need a notebook and internet...do you mean a laptop Computer?
2. Do I need to plug the laptop Computer into the ODB port under the steering wheel and enter the codes into the X5 that way or do I simply use the Laptop computer for directions on how to implement the changes you made via the iDrive screen?

Please let me know as I am very excited to have the same mods on my X5

Actually, I didn't do these mods by myself. I found a guy at this forum and he did it through internet for me. His name is Patrys from Poland. He is a nice guy and he will take a good care of you. I am sure.

1. Yes, a laptop computer.
2. Yes, he wil mail you a cable and you will need to plug into the ODB port then connect to your laptop. He will take over your laptop through internet and code it for you.

good luck on that !!

Great news - I have a 2011 on order, but had Patryk code my 3 series remotely a few weeks ago and enable a bunch of features, he is very professional, easy to work with and it is pretty short money to have some really nice features enabled!

Yeah, I was surprised to see there was no digital speed read out coming from my M3. Made no sense to me. I like all the other changes too. Just might have to hit him up.

Best to PM him, but the cable he just has the last person he programmed ship to you and then you just pay to ship to the next person. Not sure if he has multiple cables floating around in different areas of the world, but when I shipped it, it only had to go a few hundred miles away to the next person. Video in Motion depends on the DVD player you have in the vehicle - in my 2008 3 series it doesn't work because it is the old non hard drive based NAV and didn't support video DVD's. I think the change happened when they went to the hard drive based navigation system that allowed this to happen. If you have 2 DVD slots in your dash, one for music and one for DVD, then it won't work, if you have 1 slot, then it probably can be done.

I am new to the forum and the site will not let me use the pm system. I just bought a 2011 X5 Premium and am very interested in getting coded to implement the changes. How do I get in touch with patryck? Thank you for help.

I am ready to offer the CIC retrofit for the 2010 X5/X6.
I am still trying to confirm if this can be done successfully for previous MYs.

Does this coding void warranty?
Will the BMW dealer find out about this coding with they hook it up to their computers?
Is it reversible for a leased car or sav?
Can it also work with I pod/ I phone/ I pad?

It's fully reversible. In fact if your dealership programs the car the coding might be erased.
It shouldn't void your warranty since these are OEM functions that are simple disabled in the factory.

They cannot detect the coding by hooking up their computer, so no worries here.
