If you're certain they're the same (except for 1 less bulb on the tailgate) it's probably just easier to do the full set, since receiving one less bulb probably won't save much and would just serve throw some of the math off.

Yes I'm pretty sure it's one, just don't know if its the same bulb type as E70, hopefully it is.

Ok, I imagine BMW would try to keep the bulb types as close as possible between models, but you never know.

Worst case, I can point him in the right direction to get any bulbs he may be missing, just so he ends up with a complete matching set.

Yes. A lot lot brighter. Stock is damn near yellow by comparison.

The bulbs themselves aren't coming from ECS, so I don't think a group buy for their toolkit would work.

I ended up buying a similar kit off Amazon which was $11 shipped.
