Those with H&R 2.0" Drop - Need Measurements

I've run a few different setups on my X5 and I've been documenting my progress and measurements on each drop. I'm considering switching up to H&R this time and while I have the measurements for the 1.2" drop, I haven't found any for the 2.0" drop.

Can someone post up their measurements from the floor to the bottom edge of the fender flare and post your results?

Thanks in advance.

I should have results on my X5 very soon. I may even be able to get them on this weekend.

Yeah I saw that thread the only issue is that those measurements aren't "settled" measurements so I'm sure it dropped a little more.

Frankly, if I were going to spend $2-3k on the KW setup I'd consider an air ride setup for a little more not to mention it would also be better for towing. However, I'm really not in a position to drop too much as we are building a house right now.

Looks like Tire Rack screwed me over. Went through all the trouble of installed mine and such, and I am pretty sure they sent me the 1.2" kit. My front height is at 30.25". They ride awesome, but I do wish it sat a little lower. Now I am pissed, and not sure what to do. It's not like swapping the springs is a small or quick job.

Yeah for top shelf parts and install. Air ride system can be easily had for half that cost based on what I've been looking at. $1500 for the air struts, $1000 for air management and another $1000 for pump, lines, tank, etc. I would just need the basics so no need for all the fancy iPhone controlled systems. I could see where a lot of cost would come from install but I'm a pretty handy guy so that's a cost I wouldn't incur.

Yeah, I can't see a solid system costing me $7k if I do the install. I haven't even looked into it yet though. I have only had my X5 since Thursday, so I think I am moving pretty fast already. I'll post my progress in my build thread tonight.

I say run with your setup for a while then reassess if you want to go lower once you have the wheels installed.

What air struts are they?

Still I'd run KWs over spring setups, but each to there own.

D2 has a setup. I'm also waiting to see if BC Racing will make an E70 coilover setup with a bag option. I was very impressed with their coilover setup on my E60 M5, more so than the KWs.

That would be awesome. I have BC Racing coilovers on my E36 M3 and they handle and feel perfect.

I wonder if BC would make a run of them if we put a group buy together? Has anyone tried to contact them and look into this?

I contacted them last year and they said they had plans to make a coilover system but no eta. I just sent over a follow up email to the contact I was communicating with to see if this is still on the table or not.

Sounds great. I would definitely be interested in a set. I had them on my F30 328d Msport, and they were great. I will say it took some time for me to get them set up properly on the car, but they rode great as daily drivers. I had them set very soft for comfort.

I'm not sure about you guys but I felt the BC coilovers seemed to have responded more to the adjustments compared to KWs.

I'd post my measurements but I think I blew a strut out since the bottom of the truck is covered in fluid and the fender is almost sitting on the tire. I had BC's on my E53 and they were great, I'd written BC about a year ago for the E70 X5M and they had nothing at the time.

I am sitting right around 30-30.25" all around right now. It settled slightly more, and I have been playing with the rear ride height. I like
the rear even with the front.

Here is a current picture of it.
