Downpipes for E70
Anyone install down pipes before on their X5 diesel? What were the results and are you happy?
Does the turbo whistle sound louder? Also, with a CEL, will a JBD CAN tool wipe the error? |

Can you let me know the results. I have a '12 50i with the Dinan Stage 2, I am considering running downpipes with the stock exhaust. Will you keep your exhaust stock or do a full exhaust? BMWBear, In general, downpipes will allow the turbo to spool faster. In general, you should see 20 or so HP gains. The nice part, it is usually down in the RPM range. |

I have installed catted AR Design downpipes. I am happy with the improvements. There is a nice improvement in low/mid range power and the truck feels faster overall.
This is exactly what I was expecting and hoped for. Since the computer controls max boost, I do not expect much increase in max boost. Having the turbos spool up faster gives a nice improvement in the low and mid range. |
