Silly question... Get rid of the Run flats and buy the Michelin PSS. I'll be doing it as soon as I burn the rest of the life out of the Dunlops we're on now... And I cannot wait until that day!

If the lack of run flat worries you, buy a BMW Mobility Kit and throw it under the floor in the back.

Not sure if I'd want to go with a Chinese tire.

I'm going for the Michelin 21" and 215 wheels kit but in black. I'll be ordering on Monday from my dealer. How do you like the 215?

I'm having a tough time making up my mind between these choices. Here are the possibilities that I've found out on the X5M from the Canadian website

Here are the tech data of a 300m Wheel kit on the X5M from bimmerfest http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/arc.../t-668363.html
A good start is http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/

Front Wheels
Diameter: 20"
Width: 10"
Offset: 40mm
Center Bore: 74mm (74.1 if bored)
Weight: 39.3
Manufacturer: Borbet Germany
Tire Size: 275/40R20

Rear Wheels
Diameter: 20"
Width: 11"
Offset: 35mm
Center Bore: 72.4mm (more like 72.56)
Weight: 41.1
Manufacturer: Borbet Alabama
Tire Size: 315/35R20

The big problem is the center bore of the X5M that is different than the X5. I still haven't found out if the new X5M is the same.

As for the tires, there isn't a lot of choices. Pirelli or Dunlopp run flats and the Michelin from the new X5m.

I would recommend Michelin Pilot Super Sports 100%... these are hands down the best tire you can get.. they are pricey but you could argue it's the most important factor in the overall performance of your X5.

P.S. might have to spend more than $800..

I agree with you.. read reviews Michelin's seem best choice.. if I get a flat -- that's going to suck for my wife to come pick me up

Agree more than $800 -- but lower than $1400 for a USED set

FYI- I have a buddy who is a small dealer.. for the Michelin's its about $1643 for the set of 21" for $1800-1900 -- so ask around and sae yourself the $200

Keep in mind, the Michelin are actually cheaper than the Dunlop run flats... At least according to Tire Rack!
