Leather Cleaning/Conditioning

Hi Folks. Just thought I'd share my experience. I recently bought Gloss-It Leather Cleaner and the Satin Leather Polish. It was @ $40 for both bottles, which included a cleaning pad. On a recent 40 degree day, having left the product inside my house to prevent it from freezing, I thought I would give it a go. My seats weren't that dirty to start. I found the product easy to use and provided a decent finish. I would caution, when cleaning, to not scrub too hard near the stitching or higher worn areas. I'm unsure if the stitching was weak to begin with, but I could see small indications of the stitching becoming "weakened" in a couple of small areas. In addition to decent cleaning, the scent is just subtle enough to be pleasant and not overpowering.

Good feedback. I had my steamer out yesterday, so just steamed the passenger seat quickly. Lifts quite a bit of dirt, and zero chemicals.

I bought a bottle of Leatherique Prestine Clean and the Rejuvenator about a year ago, still haven't used them yet. Heck, I've sold the car I originally bought them for. Maybe I'll use them on the X at some point. I'm sure it could use it...

Haha I know. To be honest I've never even washed the X myself since we bought it. It's been getting done at the local hand wash. I know, I should be ashamed.

I can't believe I haven't thought of this... So did you just make a few passes and wipe the seat dry with a cloth? I'm definitely going to try this!

Exactly. You can either blow the steam directly on there, then wipe. Or wrap the head of the steamer in a microfiber, and use that to clean the seats. Then follow up with some type of conditioner.

I have a steamer I use for my clothes. I'll have to try and use it on the car. Right now I've been using the Lexol Shampoo and Conditioner.

It depends on the model and package. They also have upgrade options as well.

My brother has an odd combination on his '12: Comfort/active/ventilated seats with synthetic (not leather).

I've tried quite a few of the products mentioned here, and I still go back to Zaino time and time again.

Best product (IMHO).

I still use Zaino's leather products (Z-9, Z-10). Don't know if its true, but I've heard they were just rebranded Duragloss products.

I think they are. I had both at one point, and they look and smell the same, and get identical results.
