Exhaust Worth It?

I love the X6M but this truck is frustrating when it comes to upgrades. You want to upgrade wheels and tires but you're left with RFT's or all-seasons as an example.

One of the first upgrades I was thinking about doing aside from wheels/tires was the exhaust. However now I'm reading threads stating that more free flowing exhausts really don't change the sound of the X6M and X5M very much.

I have always enjoyed the sound of exhaust upgrades on other vehicles but I don't want to spend $2,000-$6,500 on parts that won't make a significant and positive sound difference.

What exact exhaust do you have and what is the sound improvement like?

Does your system result in drone? I want to avoid drone with this upgrade.

Do the Megan Exhaust. Look at the threads. $450-$500 is cost

I'm getting Eisenmann exhaust and it sounds AMAZING!

I have had Dinan on my E90 M3 and switched to Eisenmann as it sounds sooo much better!

If you want a super loud setup, then get catless downpipes!

Biglare, what vehicle are you considering the Eisenman for? I had the Eisenhause Ti (not to be confused!) on my e46M and it was amazing but I read some threads here that the Eisenman Race is too loud for the X6M.

I'm getting a X6M this coming Friday. I had the Eisenmann inconel race on my M3 and loved it! Eisenmann prides their exhaust on sounds. I mean their slogan is "Driven By Sound".

The Eisenmann race is louder than the sport, but that is why they offer two versions. Some like it louder than stock and some like it mush louder so they offer two versions. If you work directly with IND they can also do custom tips to your specs too.

Check on you tube. They have some excellent side by side comparisons of stock and other exhausts.

Does it increase HP at all? Or just sound?

The stock does sound like a lawn mower.. lol..

I love the eisenmann but can't justify the price. I don't like the sound of the Megan exhaust as it doesn't sound very "mean" when you open 'er up. Guess the bottom line is you pay to play.

Search on X5 Board and listen to clips. I have talked to a couple guys with it. They love it for the price. Plus the sound clips are gret...over stock!

I had the Eisenmann Race on my M3 but have yet to upgrade the exhaust in my X6M. After driving around that loud-ass E-Race I kind of like hearing my Individual sound system in the X6M. LOL
