SOS- pls help

After 4x4, DSC, DBC malfuntion and Start-off assistance inactive messages, took it to the dealer. 2 days later informed me that GEARBOX need to be replaced and that the estimated cost will be around 30,000euro!!!!! (aprox.$40,000). My 35d is 2 yrs 1 month old and has only 45,000km... Do you think dealers diagnosis is right? In my opinion no one of the above messages has to do anything with transmission or gearbox. Anyone got similar messages? Pls help....

Not sure what your dealer is smoking but it has to be some crazy stuff, but how in the world can a gearbox cost 30k euros, does the gearbox come with a night with Jessica Alba or something? You need to tell your dealer that he is a freaking nutjob and should just quit his job, for even suggesting that price.

yes this is way out of line. I would try and find how you can get in touch with BMW, maybe call Germany if you have to. This should be covered by warranty.

I have the same problem as you do, but it's on an 09 M3 Sedan. I have DBC,DSC malfunction and start-up assistant inactive. My problem is the "BMW yaw sensor", it's defective and needs to be replace. hope that helps.

This thread worries me cause i'm waiting for my x6 30d in October. Please confirm this with BMW

Dealer told me they are going to repalce the CHECK CONTROL UNIT (whatever is that!!!) and then if the problem persists they will proceed changing the whole GEARBOX.....
