can't decide if I want the X6 35i

I have this new car itch and trying to decide to keep my current car or get a new one. I am driving a 08 E90 335i and still love driving it to work everyday. On the weekend, I also drive my wife MDX whenever we go out with our 2 kids (3 & 6) and started debating if I should trade my 335i for the X6. Maybe I am getting old, I like the fact that I sit higher with the X6 and xdrive for the winter.

Anyone regret going to X6 from E90/92 335i?

Owned a fully modded 2007 E92 335i. I just took delivery of my x6.. I do not regret it. I absolutely love how much more functional my x6 is. I went with the 50i over the 35i because after all the options it was less than $100 difference a month. The 35i is kinda sluggish. I didn't get to drive it extensively, but it felt a little slow for my liking; especially after driving a 400whp coupe.

The 50i is just a monster, and I can't help telling everyone that asks me about it. It just feels like a locomotive when you get on it. With Adaptive drive, the x6 feels almost as nimble as my 335i prior to suspension upgrades. Don't get me wrong, this is still a 2.5 ton+ car and it feels like it when you make high speed turns. The only difference is the suspension inspires a lot of confidence and the steering wheel is much more responsive than your everyday SUV.

To put it simply, I am in love!

Garage List
2008 E90 M3  [0.00]
I sold by 2008 E90 M3 which was heavily modified and went to a 2010 x6 35i. I'm fully satisfied with the purchase. I was close to going the route of the X6M but decided against it - I'd be throwing unnecessary money away to keep the 'M' badge I had before. I have mine fully optioned out w/ sports, performance, tech, heads up display, dynamic drive etc. I was totally surprised how well it handled for being a bigger car.

The 35i doesn't have the power of the 50i as stated but it depends on how often you need that power. It was between the X6 M and the 35i to me - as the difference between the 50i and the M wasn't that much so I would have gone that route. Coming from my M3 which I didn't get to really apply the power, I went with the more practical version and yes, it is a tad slower but overall - more than fast enough for me and my wife.

I'd recommend it - but you have to test it out first.

if u drive in the winter, read the car & driver article on the comparison with the infinity fx in the snow. xdrive w dpc is clearly the winner.

no wagon for me. Beside the 5 GT and the X6 looks similar from the side except the X6 is a few inches taller.

I do drive it in the winter. But I only consider the X6 or keeping my E90 for a little bit longer. I don't like the FX regardless of how they drive, they don't look that good imho.

I would love for BMW to offer the X6 with the diesel engine and M sport package.
