Bakzoom can you PM which NoVa dealer you talked to? Mine recommended Fidelity - which has been purchased by CarChex.
Called them today and they offer (2012 X5M 46K) the following: 3yr/36k - $4949 or $206 for 24 months 4yr/48k - $5927 or $246 for 24 5yr/60k - $6176 or $257 for 24 All with $100 deductible and this is their top tier plan - "bumper to bumper". I have some more research to do but this looks pretty Damn good... |

Just bought a X5 and the dealer-indy,gave us quotes on PWI.
for our car (35I w/22k. the Premium was $2482 for 84 mo/100k total miles add 196 for the Nav total $2672 w 100 ded. That was total miles/months with our factory one ending in 6/17. I have never bought an extended warranty as I figure the odds always favor the seller but considering one on this car. I am going to call a couple indy shops and see what they take and recommend. |

Be very, very careful with this type of warranty. It does not appear to be exclusionary, which puts in plain writing what is NOT covered. The warranty you're looking at appears to only state what is generally covered. You won't find out what is actually not covered until you have a claim. The warranty company may then fight you, telling you the warranty doesn't explicitly spell out coverage for your particular repair OR components peripheral to your repair aren't covered.

The PWI one I was shown does put in writing what was not covered-everything else was, excluded the usual maintenance items, trim, lamps and any aftermarket add-on's. I ran a transmission shop for a few years and dealt with a number of them, many would not cover fluids, shop fee's or enough of the labor leaving some of the bill to customer. The other huge issue then was how many went out of business. |

You can have an idea of the prices here
http://bmwwidget.ca/pdf/BMW_EW.SI_Pr...s(Oct2014).pdf The prices are not exactly spot on. For example, less than 1 year ago, I paid 5200$ plus tx for 200 000 km/6 years on the x5m 2013 |
