Heat Exchanger- CARB Number

Good Afternoon. I'm shopping for a heat exchanger. I noticed a performance model By Mishimoto has a CARB number. Is this important? Does California care about my new heat exchanger? Yesterday, I read that charge pipes can cause a visual inspection failure, really. Thanks

I would call and ask a few local smog shops. Not sure about heat exchangers specifically. If there is a CARB number, I assume it's not for no reason and one without a CARB *should* fail a visual inspection.

My Agency Power intake on my previous 340 *should have* failed visual inspections. 2 shops told me to put my original intake on if I wanted to pass. A 3rd smog shop passed me.

What heat exchanger? Top mount or front mount?

Top mount will need a CARB EO. Mishimoto gives you a CARB sticker.

The front mount is just a radiator and isn't subject to any emissions rule.

Thanks, for the input. I went ahead and purchased a Mishimoto tmic for the sticker. I want to avoid the hassle of making the car smog legal every two years. I considered the Wagner but was told that there are fitment issues with my CS. I also considered EOS

There are no fitment issues with CS, I installed it myself with zero issues.
