E70 X5 with E53 wheels? Possible?

Hello,

I'm going to be purchasing a 2007 E70 4.8is in a couple of weeks and will be needing winters with it. Currently there are a number of 18/19" OEM BMW wheel/winter tire packages for sale at very very decent prices. But they all say for 2000-2006 E53 only.

I researched and found the hub is 74.1mm for the E70 and 72.56mm for the E53. Has anyone had success having the E53 wheels bored out?

Or should I just look for an E70 package and be done with it?

Thanks,
Mike

Many people machine it and are okay with it. Other's have had bad experience with precision causing vibration/non hubcentric.

The E70's 18/19 setups are pretty cheap as well. There are a few sets on here for sale. Just stick to that. Even if you save a couple hundred you will pay at least a $100 or so to bore it correctly negating your savings and having a wheel that was retrofitted.

A set of winter wheels I bought for my E70 came off a E53 4.6is which for some reason had 72.6mm front and 74.1 rear center bores.

To install the front I ordered a set of H&R adapter/spacer all in one along with longer wheel bolts. The adapter is 72.6mm on the wheel side and 74.1mm on the hub side so I easily mounted the front wheels.
