Anyone have this warning before? Steering malfunction possible hydraulid issue or something to that effect. Shows truck icon leaning and says stop driving and contact BMW ASAP. Obv I didn't stop driving, I mean I couldent I was on country road in middle of nowhere and I jus drove to my destination (slower than I normally would have),but then when I start my truck back up the warning is gone??? Drive a little ways and it came back on...turned truck off for 1 second and it was gone again and hasn't been back. Has anyone else seen this or experienced this?

Steering angle sensor needs re-aligning, happened to me also. Usually happens on straight stretches of road and the steering wheel is on an angle but the car is driving straight.
Sometimes this comes about after a frontend alignment and the steering angle sensor has not been re-calibrated to the steering wheel position. X5M V8 & X5M 50d have the same hydraulic steering system, its not electrically driven like on the other model X5's.
