Lowering - use links or use DIS?

Hi,
I am going to get the Eibach lowering kit.
Here in Australia, only the 7 seat ones come with the rear air suspension.

Eibach only provide the front springs, so I either need to buy the adjustable links or get the dealer to code it in.

What's the recommended approach?

I like learning new things and DIY'ing. So I found DIS online, learned how to use it, and re-calibrated the rear ride height myself to go with my Eibach fronts.

Overall cost will be about the same, as it costs close to $100 for the adjustable links or the coding cable. The easiest of course will be the links.

This not correct, when the LCI X5 came out you could get self-leveling suspension without the extra seats, I have it on my M50d as well as AD?

Opps, what I meant as it is a 7 seat one, it will have the self levelling suspension as standard or factory option on others.
It seems that in the US, all have the self levelling rears.

well I'm familiar and have all the hardware and software, just never coded an X5 yet. mostly 3 and 5 series.

forgot to ask... How is the ride lowered?? can you tell the difference? I have 22" wheels and its ok on the stock springs, but i'm worried if I lower with springs it will be too harsh for daily driving???

With the Eibachs, it's only marginally stiffer than the stock (sport) springs. It's very difficult to tell the difference really. I'm on the stock 20's

I keep hearing the Eibachs are less harsh than the H&R's.

although I'm not sure if people are talking about the 2" drop spring from H&R or the 1.2" when comparing them to the Eibachs. Because the 2" drop springs actually drop about 2.5 inch so of course thats going to be really harsh.

The only instance I've found online of someone actually trying both sets of springs were both the 1.2" drop of each company. And on a 4.8i.

Basically they liked the ride of the Eibachs over the H&Rs.
