Folding Mirror Issue

Has anyone tried folding & unfolding the mirror a dozen times or more & then the switch stops working on the mirrors & later starts working again?
Does anyone know if there's an overheat/electronic protected circuitry?

I haven't tried this a dozen times in a row, not sure why you would? But I assume there is some sort of circuitry to prevent the motors from overheating and getting damaged.

If in doubt, take it to the dealer and tell them that whenever you open and close your mirrors a dozen times in a row they stop working momentarily and see what they say. lol
I'm not trying to be a jerk, the whole "dozen times" just seems funny;-))

Somebody clipped my mirror, I wanted to be sure there''s no inside damage, hence, 12 + times, testing.
Thx.

Ahh, makes more sense now.
I always fold my mirrors, its either people parking too close or walking by and catching the mirror with their bag or coat.
Its sad that the reason our cars come equiped with this feature, is to compensate for other peoples carelessness.

Mirror mirror on the door...

checked w SA , it's a built in safety overide to stop the motor from burnout b/c they've had problem in the past w x5 mirror retracting / unfolding non stop burning out motors on both sides.
Now we know!
No real Issue, Never Mind!

I always fold mine in parking lots, no issues but like others haven't done 12 times in a row.
