^^ Most largely disappointing. Will be interesting to see how the ActiveHybrid 3 does!

I will caution that the first few tanks give poor gas mileage, but for some reason the mileage got progressively better after a few fillups.

On my 2012 F30 335i:

Average daily high temperature is 108F

June 5 - 24.57
June 14 - 23.71
July 9 - 22.41
July 17 - 21.86
July 31 - 23.06

Mixed driving in Phoenix metropolitan area. 50% highway and 50% local roads. Most of the local roads are at 45mph speed limit and highways, I usually go at around 75-80mph.

My guess is that the efficiency will improve with cooler temperatures.

For the last 6 months I've been averaging 25-28 MPG during local driving (about 25 miles a day, 10 of those on the autobahn, the rest up and down hills). However, on two trips with mostly autobahn and some city driving I averaged@34MPG (@430 miles to the tank and about 40 miles still left in the reserve when I filled up). Considering I'm carrying 4 people comfortably with luggage and can hit 60 in under 6 seconds, I'm pretty happy with my MPG.

Could have sworn I saw previous posts that 335is were getting almost the same as the 328i. Seems like those were not the norm.

I'm happy with that and my driving style.

This is interesting. Those with the low MPG (around 18) are you driving MT or AT. I've been driving the AT 8speed in ECO PRO a bit and have noticed the car shifts very quickly under 2000RPM. Before I hit 60km/h in the city, the car is already in 4th or 5th gear. I get around 30 to 33mpg. In Comfort the car shifts at 3000 to 4000rpm on average driving and in Sport + Drive Sport the car shifts at 5000 and above. So if your driving MT try shifting at much lower RPM in city and see what happens. The cars torque band is around 1500 to 2000 rpm.

By the way when i'm in any of the 3 driving experiences i set the computer on the cluster to show real time mpg or L/100 km. Its very helpful to see how the car uses gas at different situations. I noticed sport mode is just as efficient as ECO pro, but eco is much easier to save gas because of the dulled throttle and etc.

I get 28 mpg on ECO Pro. And about 18 mpg when driving hard on Sport. I can live with both.

I think the coolest thing about having driving modes is how it remedies the biggest problem of speed junkies. Getting used to it. Meaning no matter how many horsepower you have, or upgrade to, at some point you get used to it. But with the driving modes, I find every time I move from ECO Pro to Sport puts a smile on my face. I used to drive my wife's car for a few days when I get bored with mine, and it's always nice to get back in to my car. Driving modes give me this options with a click of a button. Love it! Btw. it's not going to stop me from modding though ;-)

Mine is about 10% adrift of the official 68.9 mpg average (UK) but i tend to leave in sport mode or comfort most of the time. Rarely use Eco pro which is the default in my 320ed.

Here's todays achievement - mainly A roads and motorways. Quite happy with that.

Now go for a decent 'headline' figure... Eco Pro and keeping to the speed limit. Go on, you know you want to, just one day, to see what it can do.

I do actually it's always tempting... My speed is usually around 80-85mph but I usually stick it in EcoPro on the motorway.

What speed have you got it set, to kick out of ECO PRO mode?

75mph is EcoPro limit. This doesn't kick it out of EcoPro, just reduces the potential of EcoPro to about 75%.

Diesels and Imperial mileage which is an inflated number compared to the US standard.
