Salt stained on car carpet
Hey guys, while waiting for my car to get back from the shop, i thought i'd get started in finding the best way to get rid of the dried up salt on my car floor. It's pretty thick, it was left over from our crazy winter that never seemed to go away. I was just wondering if you guys knew the best product or trick to get this out instead of sending it to a detailer and getting it cleaned.
Thanks! |

remove as much as you can with a stiff brush. Scrub fairly hard. What doesn't come out is probably dried into the carpet. Boil your kettle then use the boiling water on the stain. Don't just dump the whole kettle on it. I usually will use an old toothbrush and keep dipping it in the hot water and scrub. you can pour a small amount on the carpet and work with brush then wetvac or extract the water. I have done numerous cars this way and never damaged the carpet and they look new. You can also use a steamer if you have one. No need for harsh chemicals.

Yeah I work for a used foreign imports dealer, with mainly BMWs and Audis and we use vinegar and water as well and then just let the car air out for a few days
