Exhaust for x5 4.8i?

I want to make my 08 4.8i x5 louder, but am having trouble deciding which way to go. I want a louder start-up and deeper, more aggressive tones but no drone.

Some options:

1. Muffler Delete (just pipes)
2. Resonater delete, magnaflow mufflers
3. Megan Racing exhaust
4. Custom cat-back from a muffler shop

Would love to hear suggestions, anything would be great!

I went with the muffler delete, just pipes and it did the job for me. Those are much louder than stock though. I also have catless downpipes, so basically straight pipes. If you're just looking for some more sound, the Megan is a good value.

If you want to spend money, meisterschaft has an exhaust I believe for the 4.8 that works with a remote, can open the flaps and let the sound through or muffle it a bit for highway driving.

When I had my 4.8 I had done a muffler delete only and it droned for me at highway. I wanted to put in resonators at the back to take some of that out but never got to it before I sold it.

I went with muffler delete on my 4.8. Details here (including video): https://xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-forums/...4-8i-pics.html

Next I want to replace the resonators under the car with an X-pipe muffler.

It's a GREAT exhaust, but bring LOTS of $$s!
Also, be ready to wait a LOOOONG time, took almost a year for me to get mine.
(They are custom built to order at this point, no inventory)
