X6M advice??? help
SO I was looking for a 2011 X635i and havent been able to find one in Canada (through dealer) but I stumbled on a great deal on a 2010 X6M 68k kms and Black with minor $20k damage accident on history..but $20k isnt much on a X6M with parts and Labor,
anyway its such a great deal to get into a M with certified warranty. My question is any of you guys with the M have input on considerations? like obvious higher Gas mileage, expensive tires, things to watch out for? like do they smoke/burn oil, turbo issues or anything? Or give me pros as in nudge towards buying,,,Better stereo, tonnes of handling and power, more options ie soft close doors, HUD, etc? Lower end X6 has Dynamic package as option so active steering and adaptive drive.....Does X6M have this standard in 2010? Really appreciate all your input guys! |

I believe Active Steering was a standalone option back in 2011 - so make sure the X6 35i you are looking at has it. I do think this option is one of the best you can get on the X.
Unfortunately it is not available on the M. However, the M's steering is much lighter than the standard X so it is probably a wash (you will however need to turn the wheel a lot more at lower speeds). Also, all of the X6/X5Ms have the adaptive drive. I am surprised that the M you are looking at is certified - I thought they couldn't do that if there was accident history? Either way, I don't think you will "hate" having the M. I have yet to see someone post here that did not love their M and.... you only live once....

Ya it wasnt a major accident guy hit the ditch, little suspension, 2 wheels and tires, and maybe a fender I think in this day and age that can hit 20k easily with labour but yes for sure it is certifed but only 1 month left on factory then 2 years on certified and I will finance for 4 years so leaves me 2 years without warranty -yikes-
Thanks doug for your input,,,PS this X6M is black,,if it was white I would buy in a second! also I am getting this for roughly $60k thats a great price with 68k kms in Canada. |

Are you allowed to buy in US and drive it in Canada?
You can definitely get one cheaper over here |

If the accident is really as minor as they say it is I say go for it if you are looking for a sporty experience. If you need 'plushness' the non M would be better. There really is little comparison between the M and non M models. I went from two e70's to an e70 M and all it did was make me wish I just went M the first time lol...

I would avoid the accident car. $20k is not minor even on an X6M. That did not happen to be a small bump in a parking lot, that was a proper hit! They are BSing you about the extent of the damage. If it was suspension and the like, there's a likely possibility the car will never drive straight.
I would not buy no matter how good the deal was, especially on a high performance car like this. But I would look for another X6M though |

No issues with my 2011 X6M other than having the camera in the left mirror replaced. I'm running the BPM tune and haven't had any issues. 13mpg but what do you expect from a 5400lb car that goes to 60 in right around 4 sec.?
