Newbie Question on Performance
Hello guys/gals, new to the site and just purchased my first E70 X5...
OK, I've looked through some threads and seen some different posts and still want to get everyone input and $0.02... I have a 2011 X5 (E70) 35i...and I want to getrid of the ANNOYING throttle delay... and make it overall faster, more fun... This is what I know thus far... I have the N55 engine Turbo 1. I can install a Charge pipe 2. I can delete the cats via a down pipe, and I would need some O2 eliminators (I live in FL, no emissions. (No bashing from tree huggers please) 3. Inlet filter (i put a stock size K&N filter), but with the filter so in the back, I wonder if a "CAI" really works? 4. I imaging I need a tune for the down pipe and release the monster within? Who, so many different folks I am very mechanically inclined, I just sold my E36 M3 (of 10 years) and searching for an E46) Thanks in advance fellas!!! there are some beauties in here, your pics are awesome.... if there is a thread with this info great... post it |

Regarding throttle delay in your words a tune I feel will help get rid or eliminate as much as possible. CP, DPs, exhaust and etc of course will help provide supporting mods for power increasing. Tunes: MHD, BMS, COBB, and DINAN are available (least cost to expensive in that order).

Nice E70, the running boards will look nice when you get them. I have them on my E70 and they are very useful

Your car looks great! I had the N55 on my 535i and the BMS JB4 made a world of difference. The intake made it sound better, but not sure about any performance enhancements. I never went downpipe, which I regret, but that is where the power is at with a tune.
