Advice on Extended warranty

Do you think an extended warranty is worth it in general? I have a 2013 X5 50 with 36K miles and warranty up in May 2016. Quoted $4341 for 72mo/70K PL and $2295 for MP extension for 24 mos. Dealer said likely to need brakes in next 24 mos which would pay for MP extension all by itself. Planning to keep for maybe 3 years tops.

In general, no. For a V8, definitely.

I bought a low mile CPO and got the extended. Just wanted piece of mind.

I would avoid the MP. You can easily get a full brake job done with OE parts for a fraction of the cost of what the dealer is quoting you.

As for the extended warranty, no question especially having a 50i. Too many potentials to not have the coverage.
