New Brakes Squeaking

I get my '08 X5 4.8i with sport package serviced by a friend who has a good mechanic but does not specialize in BMW. He is definitely honest with me, but sometimes I find the work a bit lacking, but he alwasy gives me a good deal.

Recently, I had him replace my brakes (rotors, pads, and sensors), as I thought this was a fairly straightforward job. He used Textar components, which he represents are identical to OEM but for the BMW stamp. After getting the car back, the performance is fine, but there is worse squeaking than there ever was when I realized the brakes needed to be replaced.

As a result of the squeaking, I took them back and he said they needed to be replaced, which he did through the parts distributor under warranty. He put the same Textar parts on a second time and I still have the virtually constant squeaking. I have not been driving the car hard to give them a chance to break in, and the squeaking is worse under light braking than hard braking.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? I'd like some insight before I take the car back to him or, more likely, to a BMW-specific shop/dealer.

Yes bedding is important, but so is proper prep on the install.... Not to knock your friend, but sometimes common simple things cause the biggest headaches. e.g. not cleaning rotors prior to install, some anti-squeal grease on key points, proper break-in...
