Are these Bmw extended warranties? Contact Jeff Steel at passport Bmw, he gave the best price when I was shopping for mine. I went with route 66 eventually which is a well-regarded 3rd party warranty (they don't cover emission components in diesels, though..)

Buying a Route 66 warranty on a diesel makes absolutely no sense. If anything goes wrong on the diesel, it'll likely be emissions related, which means no coverage. Unfortunately I think your best bet is to price out the BMW warranty options from a few different reources and go from there.

I have route 66 on the 3 series .. I've had to stay on the phone with them to cover my water pump and thermostat replacement, they were giving me $70 an hour for labor vs shop charged $100 .. eventually they covered everything less coolant cost etc but it wasn't like dropping the car off and picking it up everything paid for.. I understand that costs a lot more

Any recommendations for bmw warranty to easy care ? Anywhere I could get it cheaper, I know this dealer is charging a lot more to than actual warranty would

thanks guys

Do you think an extended warranty is worth it in general? I have a 2013 X5 50 with 36K miles and warranty up in May 2016. Quoted $4341 for 72mo/70K PL and $2295 for MP extension for 24 mos. Dealer said likely to need brakes in next 24 mos which would pay for MP extension all by itself. Planning to keep for maybe 3 years tops.

On average, strictly on a cost basis, you will pay more in premiums than the cost of repairs. Insurance companies need to make a profit. But intangibles such as peace of mind for catastrophic events are worth it for some. Or if you think the insurance company hasn't done a good job of pricing their insurance.

As for replacing your brakes, take a close look at your coverage. Extended warranties usually do not cover wear items like brakes.
