As long as you remember that those running boards are really bad for keeping your pants clean...
My wife dislikes them a lot, not for the looks but it does get dirty quiet quickly... all depends how you drive and where you drive ;-) |

The OEM running boards are $300 when ordered with vehicle. They are $1100 installed if you decide you want them later. Dealer charges about $500-$600 just for the boards without installation. Since the vehicle is rather low, they are more for show and can be inconvenient.

I wish I could give you mine, but the leasing company might object. They are a real PIA, only thing they do is get your pants dirty. My wife hates them. I thought they would be of some use when ordered car and thought they look nice as well as may aid in keeping it cleaner. Wow, what a waste of money that option turned out to be. The boards must be sponsored by your local dry cleaner because they will be the only beneficiery.

Try this, when u enter the cockpit ( yes it's like climbing into a fighter jet), put ur left foot lengthwise,on the runningboard & swing your right side into the space above the seat & lower yourself, with or without placing your hand over the steering wheel. When alighting, swing your legs to the open door, place your left ankle portion of your left foot on the r-board, lock your left ankle to bear ur weight & stand up, mind your head & shoulders if ur 5'11' +, when u do this maneuver & duck a little. Workd for me w/o getting my pants dirty. Just make sure u have non slip soles on ur shoes. u can rest ur weight on the door handle. The comfort seat supports can get in the way for some, but i don't think it's anymore difficult than squeezing urself into a Lambo. |
