I wasn't expecting a sweep but it certainly looks possible. Watching James play is a joy as a sports fan. But his ego and it's-all-about-me attitude has affected his teams' performances over the years really take away from his greatness as far as I'm concerned. I know nobody is asking, but I don't see him as the GOAT at this point. Another championship loss, regardless of his individual stats, make it hard in my mind to put James in front of Jordan. Anybody could call me wrong and I don't really mind, but, I'd put Karem Abdul Jabar in front of him in terms of all around package: Championships, stats, dominance, part of a team in a team sport. |

I was discussing this with friends during the Boston series, the league today is very much tailored for Lebron to dominate. There are not many bigs in the league that stay low, most teams now have 5 guys standing near the perimeter. Because of this, Lebron can pretty much drive and finish on anyone in the league consistently.
All the Warriors had to do to stop Lebrons domination is put a mediocre 7 footer down low to help when Lebron drives. It changed Lebrons game, he is now forced to pass or shoot mid range shots. He isn't finishing anywhere near as much at the basket as he did in game one or the last series. Now imagine Lebron having to deal to with Ewing, Shaq, Olajuwon, etc...And at that time with no illegal defense rule. He would have had to have a completely different game. |

I agree. LbJ would've had his head chopped off if he drived to the basket back in the day. Everyone was big and strong, and had no fear. Men played the game then. Nobody moved out of the way, and licked their chops when a player came in the hole. Today it's all about the 3 pointer. For those who never watched the NBA back when it was physical, referees allowed players to play, almost every team had a center, and 3-4 all Stars on a team, you missed a great era.

Google Jay Williams/Jalen Rose on ESPN " Get Up." Talking about LbJ vs. MJ one, on one. I totally agree with Rose. It's also pretty funny in the beginning of the discussion.

News just in...Lebron James is a goat, but not GOAT
I think the conversation about James being GOAT just went silent at least for awhile. GOAT's don't get beat 0-4 in the finals....twice!

LbJ championship window is closing. Swept in 2007, and 2018. Here comes all the excuses. IE: He didn't have help, he has to do it all, and the rest of the BS. Remember, LbJ wanted Cleveland to sign JR, Thompson, and Love. Cleveland is built to compete in the weak East, not to win a championship. In fact, LbJ entire career was in the horrible Eastern Conference. Let's see what the story line is going to be now.

Oh yeah... MJ is saying, Swept, really. Let's see who's on the banana boat this summer? Time to end the G.O.A.T conversation. Looked like LBJ gave up in the 2nd half. Did anybody " Witness " that from the self proclaimed " Chosen One?"

The argument is over when you start talking about defense. Jordan was the best in the league at both ends of the court. 9 all nba 1st team defense and defensive player of the year. Jordan led league in steals 3 times. Led league in scoring 10 times. Jordan was smothering and relentless on defense. Lebron is amazing and deserves all the praise. But last time he played elite level defense was 2012, hasn’t done anything since then. As he ages he is getting worse on that end of the court.

The brace will be the the talk of the town now. I can’t remember of another player who had so many excuses. Saw a interesting stat. Cavaliers are dominant in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Losing record in the finals. The G.O.A.T conversation ship has sailed.

Kobe won a championship in 2010 with two fractures in his index finger on his shooting hand. Put off surgery until after playoffs. Did he cry about it, no. He taped his fingers together, won a championship and nba finals mvp. |

Blipit, I agree with you. Kobe was a assassinator. Win at all cost, took over games in crunch time. Best of all, no excuses. LBJ is a great athlete/basketball player. However, to me, all his regular season stats, and playoff stats don’t impress me. Reason is he played his entire career in a really bad Eastern Conference. He played under .500 and .500 teams in first and second rounds of the playoffs for many years. Although no fault of his own, just the level of competition night in and night out was nonexistent.

My next favorite player after Jordan, Allen Iverson. Too bad he didn't get a chance to win a title. Came close though. And what he did in the 2001 All Star Game was awesome. That was pretty much his year, until he ran into Shaq & Kobe.

LBJ is probably the games best player as of today... All around... But he’s not the guy I would go to to close a game... As evident when Kyrie was there... He also doesn’t handle pressure the same as other greats... His numbers this year were great, but his team wasn’t... So he had to pick up slack in areas that the team needed him too... This providing his great numbers... Make no mistake though he is still a phenom and knows the game inside an out... Honestly Lebron would be the Pippen... He needs a Jordan... |
