Actually we don't have this on ours. The Speed Limiter is increased as part of the sports package. There was not a $1,500 option for performance upgrade and I am pretty sure this is for the 40HP M sport upgrade. Pricing of $1,500 sounds about right for 40 more HP from BMW

I am wondering what else comes with the M Sport Package. I know about the 40 HP upgrade. I have several releases that talk about a different body kit and wheels along with some M badging. ?????

Ok i got the sports package so guess it came with that. I was just referring to speed limiter not 40 more hp.

I took it upon myself to call BMW WELT this morning. 7RR "Performance Upgrade" is the "M Sport Package" it was available on the 2009 X6 in Germany ONLY. The Customer Service rep from BMW told me to go BMW.de for the specs. I dont know German so I had Google translate. Here it is.

M Performance Package

7RR is in combination with ZSP only- No M Sport (ZMP) on X6s in the US for 2010

20 hp, 30 lb-ft bump on I6(35i) 330 lb-ft @ 1600 rpm

40 hp, 30 lb-ft bump on V8(50i) 480 lb-ft @ 2000 rpm

$1500 price increase, does not create issues w/ emission and engine did not need to be retested as the increases are not indicated on the test cycle used by the EPA.

I would doubt anything else like different wheels. Maybe some M badging but $1,500 sounds about right for pricing for an additional 40HP. Assuming Dinan will be charging over $2,000K for about 50-75HP.

Yes- sorry about that. I had two conflicting accounts and just called someone that is always right

For the 2010 Model Year BMW is offering a new option package for both X6 models. This option is known as “Performance Upgrade” and as option code 7RR. It must be combined with the Sports Package (ZSP), but is not required if you only want ZSP. The cost of 7RR is $1500 (in addition to ZSP) and in the grand scheme of things is flat out cheap for the added performance it gives you.

With this performance option you receive increased engine output with both the 6 and 8 cylinder motors. The X6 50i will see a 40 hp bump along with peak torque now reaching 480 lb-ft at 2000 RPMS, a 30 lb-ft increase. The X6 35i sees its torque increase to 330 lb-ft at 1600 RPMS and horsepower up 20 to 320.

Since people love to drag race in X6s, the 0-60 time of the 35i drops to 6.3 seconds while the 50i comes in at 5.1; so an X6 in V8 form will still beat the pants of an inline six. All you drag racers are recommended to get the 50i! Last but not least is that the EPA numbers have not changed for either vehicle, so even with the added performance fuel mileage is unchanged- How did they do that? We are trying to figure that out as well!

This is a factory installed option and is available for 2010 X6s, whether or not this option will be introduced to other models is anyone’s guess at this time.

Pretty Cool how discussion boards get the right information after the vetting process. If that only worked as good in the politcal system!!! Ha! It would make sense our 7RR package is only the performance upgrade and not the full 7RR M Sport Package offered in Germany. I wonder why???

I was told that BMW NA did not want the M Sport kit here yet. Probably did not want to take away from the new launch of the ///M versions.

Here in Oz I looked at a silver M Sport diesel last week (and they have one in midnight blue also. But they seem to have the old idrive system and yet they have the USB connector? I'm confused. Why do they have the old Idrive if they are 09 build?

The new idrive won't be available till MY2010. There should be a USB connector in the current idrive system for the ipod adapter.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but does anyone know when production starts for MY2010?
