Hey guys! Considering upgrading my intercooler and chargepipe soon, I am completely stock other than an intake, I do plan on doing downpipes and tuning but that will be way later, and from what I understood if I change my downpipes (regardless kf catted or catless) then I need to have a stage 2 tune.

So my question is, will I need to tune my car if I upgrade my intercooler?

No you won’t.

And even with downpipes, even though you might have to tune, don’t “have” to flash stage 2. It’s moreso that your car can now support stage 2 if you decide to flash it. Catless DP is an independent setting you can toggle on all stages iirc

I have heard many stories of people messing up their car long term from not tuning while on DP. Is there ant truth to that?

you don't need a tune for anything that doesn't inherently make more HP on its own.

Intercooler - same amount of air will pass to the engine as is metered.
DP - the exhaust will flow a bit more freely, but not much changes. WGDC may change due to less backpressure, but it won't negatively affect you, as the DME will "learn" to a certain extent.
