N63/S63 HPFP Issues
Has anybody seen any issues with their HPFP? Looks like mine on bank 2 is only reaching 83 BAR instead of the 124 BAR spec. Loss of power is consistent with this failure. Dealer might blame injectors but the real problem lies with the HPFP and the rail pressure needs to be checked to diagnose this problem. Low pressure was fine at 5 BAR and bank 1 HPFP was also seeing pressures that were within spec.

Bumping an old thread. I got the dreaded "Engine Malfunction - Reduced Power" indicator over the weekend on my X5 50i. The next time I started it up I got long cranks (I know, that's what she said ). I had a service appointment today and they replaced the HPFP. Shocker! A HPFP failure on a turbo BMW car! On my old 07 335i I had three such failures so I pretty much knew what it was going to be. Anyone else experiencing this?

Had to replace both pumps in my M ... started failing with longer cranks and going into limp mode, eventually never went out of it till I replaced them.
They are a really simple fix if your out of warranty (took me 15 minutes) and only costs about $280 in parts. |
