Lower Cowl / Front Skirt

2012 X5 35D Sport Package, 20" wheels...

Anyone know why there's a hole in the right side (solid) front skirt?

I searched this forum and found one other BMW X5 with a clear picture...with the same "hole"...

Thanks

I believe its there just to remove the trim piece. I had to pull it out to remove it when changing my reflectors.

Yes that's there so you can put your finger and pop it back on when you replace the fog lamp, I have a 2009 and it doesn't bring that it's a pain in the ass to put back on

So you can stick your finger in there to remove it. Behind that plastic is DEF pump with wiring some of it partially unsealed. This solid plastic pice is there to protect it from road debris, water, etc.
