Are Cabin Rattles and Creaks Covered Under Warranty?

Just wondering if rattles and/or creaks are covered by the warranty. My X6 has just over 15k miles on it. There is a terrible rattle inside the right, rear door panel. I also get an annoying vibration or rattle from the steering column. This is in addition to some of the other creaking noises coming from the interior's plastics.

A lot of times I find myself regretting terribly having traded my Infiniti FX50 for this X6. I didn't have any problems whatsoever (or rattles/creaks) with the FX50. This thing sounds like a toy inside. Talk about buyer's remorse!

These noises also annoy the hell out of me.
My dealer said this is not covered in warranty.

Well I don't know how the laws works in Canada ( I assume the same way as in US). But its clearly a car manufacture problem not yours.

Guess I'll just have to make some time and get the car over to the service department to see if they will take a look at it. I'll report back!

Of interest, since my X6 is a hybrid, the cabin noises are much more noticeable when cruising along under 40mph on electric power only since there isn't any engine noise to drown out the other sounds.

I noticed irritating creaks/ rattles coming from the center console shortly after buying my 2012 last year. took it to the dealer and they replaced the noisy parts as well as used a felt-like tape between the plastics to reduce the plastic-on-plastic rubbing sounds while driving on various surfaces. there will always be occasional rattles, but the dealer can go a long way in reducing these annoyances. Request that the dealer to get a technician to ride with you and point out the noises.

I have had my 2009 X6 35i for over three years now and only recently started to hear subtle vibration noises in the cabin. It statred about two months ago. Before that, it was always a pretty smoothe and quiet ride. I am starting to wonder if this will be commonplace for the X6 with normal usage over time.

I have the same issues. I've extended my warranty and unfortunately under the extended package this ain't covered anymore. Sometimes the noises are more pronounced and sometimes not. Thinking this will be my last BMW. Plastic is killing the whole impression of this awesome vehicle.

Bulldog, what I meant was that I'm gettin a vibrating noise, but even that is not accurate. It is a light, but annoying, rattle coming from the steering wheel column or its cover.

I will see if someone at the dealer can ride with me so I can point out those noises. Thanks for the advice folks!
