Garage List
2009 BMW X6 50i  [0.00]
Just take it into the dealer and they will top it off. Our cars will sometimes burn oil and sometimes more during break-in period. Mine needed to be topped off around 5500 miles. No big deal. Haven't had to take back to them since they topped off and I now have 22K miles.

I had the same issue at 4k miles. Seems perhaps like whoever did the PDI on these vehicles when they came off the truck, dropped the ball in making sure all levels were topped off. My engine coolant was also very low. I just pulled into BMW service bay and they topped everything off and I was gone in 10 minutes tops. No biggie.

normal , more oil is used during break in. After that doesn't use that much, quart every 12k at least with mine so far. I drive hard with frequent trips from California to Arizona and Nevada (summer temps 100+ F). The one thing I really don't like about X6 is the idrive dipstick. I want regular one so if it is down half quart I can put that in. idrive will show otal full then all of a sudden it wants a quart.

Yes, get use to it!

Even on the smaller cars you have to add oil.

I had to add a quart after just 1800 miles on my new 135i.
