Rear Seat Ipad/Kindle Holder

I have a '11 X5 50. Family road trip coming up, and our little one will be spending some long stretches in the back seat. I do not have rear seat entertainment, so I am looking into an Ipad holder that attaches to the front seat head rest. Hopefully will work for a Kindle as well. The dealer has them for $185, which seems sort of silly when there are some others available for more like $25. Anyone used one of these and like it? Compatible with both Ipad and Kindle?

Had the same situation as you and ended up buying one from amazon.

It's made by a company called grip daddy. They have 2 models, one that centers the device between the front seats. And the other that mounts the device right behind one of the front head rests. I went with the latter option.

I did a lot of research before buying and found this one to be highly reviewed. I love it. Easy install and very sturdy. My kids haven't broken it yet and I've had it for 6 months and a few road trips so far over summer.

It's also easy to remove whatever device you put in it. It is adjustable too for different devices as well as viewing angle etc. I leave the mount itself installed all the time though as it isn't obtrusive at all.

It is pricier than some, I paid around 60-70 bucks I think.

And no I am not affiliated with the company, lol. It just works and like I said, very sturdy and great construction.

Good luck!

Just the sort of first hand info I am looking for--Thanx! Based on reviews I have read, the Akron units break very easily, some times on first use! Small issue here, but this is just waht I love about these Boards!

No problem! I hope it helped.

FYI the one I purchased is: "Gripdaddy v2HDR iPad Headrest Mount"

Is the Akron one you're referring to, the one BMW sells?

I like this one because you can keep your otter box or whatever cover on it when you mount

I'm not sure how old your child is, but I bought two from the dealer at $149 each for my 6 & 8 year olds, and they would rather hold their tablets. At this point, the mounts were a waste of money.

Velcro. You can easily remove it from the seat back and the ipad with a hair dryer later.

How about duct tape or some clothes pins?
