X6 Advise
Hi,
I presently have an e90 335 that is tuned. Love the car, the power and the handling. 3 kids + wife means it's getting a bit small for family use. I've liked the x6 since it's release and now they have announced the additional seat in the back it makes a compelling argument as the ideal car in a years time when I update. What are peoples thoughts on the different engines etc? In Australia the prices we pay for luxury cars are insane (i.e. $120K US for a loaded 335) so an M is probably out of the question. I was thinking the V8 but the N55 with a tune could be an option. What other options are good to have in the x6? Thanks in advance, S

Hello,
Firstly, try to identify what's important for you to have. For me it was: - comform access - adaptive drive - head-up display - powered boot - comfort seats (with memory for the driver and the front passenger) - media package - professional sound system These were essential options and then there are a number of other options including 19" alloys. |

For me, the performance Aero sealed the deal for me.
Other options I chose are: 1. Sport package with 20" wheels 2. Premium Package which includes Comfort access Comfort Seats Navi Rear view camera & etc 3. Professional sound 4. HUD 5. Performance spoiler & fins |

Hi S,
Most of the x6 here have many of the noted extras as standard. Have you checked the BMW site for all vehicles for sale in Aus. Only when you identify an idividual vehicle and ask for its options do you really know whats included. But on a demo at the moment you will save 10-15k off list price.

Mainly interested in peoples thoughts on the different engines, given my 335 is modified for performance I don't want to take a major hit in that regard for additional space for the kids if I can help it.

I don't think you would be happy if you compare the performance of your Mod 335i to a X6 35i. My 335i was stock and I am happy with the 35i performance considering it weights. You might want to look into the 50i with a tune or the X6M.
