To ME, having no rear wiper has more advantages. Cars that need to have it always look dirty in the back (unless they are squeeky clean) and you end up having one small round circle through which you can see clearly. Overall the visibility is much better then it seems and one gets used to it (with a rear/top view camera being a mandatory option).
Perhaps BMW is reading the forums as the five seats are now an option.

Imagine a M6 with rear wipers. Why does it need a rear wiper just because the car sits a bit higher then a regular sedan? It's got about the same typical slope as a typical sedan. Just saying

I'm not disputing the fact that the rear window stays dry whilst driving my problem comes first thing in the morning when the car has been standing on the drive all night and is covered in condensation as I don't intend to drive if I can't see out of the rear window.

Is that you Rube Goldberg?

Turn your car on... let it warm up with the rear defroster on. When you come back out if there is still condensation on the rear window keep a towel in your trunk (or boot as you folks call it) to wipe it down.

I wish there was a contraption to clean the snow off my entire car in the winter, but there isn't. My only choice is to clean it myself or move somewhere it isn't a problem.

I assume that this is a country specific joke as it's completely lost on me

That's all well and good but as I've already said, I can't reach all of the rear window to wipe it without leaning on a wet car and getting my clothes all wet too

A Rube Goldberg device is something overly complicated to solve a simple problem. I also don't see how that applies to not driving your car if you can't see out the window. Sounds pretty simple to me.

If you strapped seven pygmies to the roof to wipe down the rear window with their shirt sleeves whenever needed, that would be a Rube Goldberg.

I see what you mean as I assume that only three pygmies would really be necessary

Installing a rear wiper for the sole purpose of removing condensation on chilly mornings doesn't seem like an overly complicated solution to a simple problem?

I guess it is a bit of a stretch.. but for the sake of humor you can understand what I am trying to say..

i think putting a wiper on on the rear window would be a faux pas. X6 is not meant to be a "suv", that is what an X5 is for.

I'm not sure that's relevant as my wife's Alfa Mito has a rear wiper and that's not an SUV either

Basicaly, every dedicated BMW X6M owner will have a crappy model in a couple years when they change the design and look. Over the next couple of years they will perfect the design and we will essentially have the problematic 1st year models which people will try to stay away from.

Is buying a 1st year edition of the X6M worth it, probably not; is buying a 3rd or 4th year after bugs and rear exhaust appeal are worked out, definately. I just want the 50i rear on the X6M is all, they wanted to be different is what they were trying to do, but failed miserably, instead of hitting the nail on the head of the hammer and driving it home, BMW really bent the nail with the rear by not integrating the exhaust tips into the rear bumper for the high end car look.

This quad exhaust setup is something you see on American cars / cheap ricers.
