Retrofit ///M Speedometer Cluster for X6 E71

Is it possible to just hotswap the speedometer dials?

I have a RHD E71 X6 and would like to know if it is possible to just replace the dials on my existing speedometer cluster with the ///M dials.

Has anyone done this mod before?

Not sure if this is possible... Or at least I haven't seen a cluster retrofit. It would be cool to see one though.

It may physically fit but I would think there is more involved than just swapping the cluster since M models have more features

you can swap the face and needles but you will still have the orange led's on your standard one unless you solder white led's onto your standard one. if you plug the M speedo into your car i dont know if it will work ok or not

Yes, it can be done, but the M cluster has to be programmed for your VIN and mileage first.

Doesn't the M cluster also display the trans mode & what gear you are in differently?
