Alcantara wheel help
http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/acc...=E70M&cat=1009
Hey guys I have this wheel in my car, and the alcantara is a bit messed up, in that its kind of bogged down, and not as soft at 10-2 as say 6 lol, so I was wondering how to approach fixing that? Secondly the blue ring at 12 has faded, any ideas on how to fix that? I got the wheel with the car when I bought it, and it was like that at the time. Thanks! |

not sure how to fix faded blue strip but I've cleaned the alcantera steering wheel a few times on my M3.
I used clean water, electric tooth brush and microfiber towel and it cleans up pretty damn good. Use your electric tooth brush to break the hand grease/oil. Then a lit bit of warm water on the microfiber towel and start rubbing on the alcantera. Repeat and you'll see much improved soft alcantera.

Alcantara has care instructions on their website so check that out for cleaning techniques. As for your blue stripe, it's leather so some good leather product should rejuvenate it. Just be careful to not get any of the leather product on the alcantara if you can help it. Good luck!
