New texts not displaying

So using an Android HTC 1 M9. I can see my text messages that have arrived but only up to the point where the phone connected to the vehicle. Any new ones that pop in after that point sound the notification on my phone, but never come through to the iDrive.
If I recall correctly this used to work until 6 months ago.
Other phone functions seem to work fine.
Help?

have you tired to unpair the phone and then pair it again?
