My friend had an X5M and drove mine. Said the X6 was much better handling
He prefers the look of the 5 though (he is mad) and now is going X6M instead due to handling preference The 6 seems like it's got a lower COG also But that's just opinion right |

Personally, X6 in general looks like crap. its a 4 door, 2 seater SUV with 0 visibility out of the back. A friend of mine who is about 5'4 hit his head on the roof when he sat in the back of one at the local dealership, and realistically, both the 5 and 6 handle the exact same. a sloping roof line does not dictate handing characteristics...

I am probably biased as I have X5M, but I would definitely pick X5M vs. X6M! I love practicality of a full size SUV and used it many times already to pick things up for the house, etc. If I didn't need practicality aspect of this beast, I'd get an M6 but not an X6M.

I like the looks of X6 but preferred X5M over X6M because lack of luggage and back seat space..if you want a practical truck then X5M is your pick

I for one am looking to leave the X5m, asap, as the service is not what I would expect on an extended service plan. At 60k miles, I am being told that the sway bar links are shot....and this is considered normal wear and tear! Really, I've put 200k on a toyota and never replaced sway bar end link wear....

Hi all, first post here - looking at buying a a 2012 onward X5M or X6M. Also considering the Cayenne equivalents.
After a few test drives its clear the marques are pretty distinct. The Porsches (GTS and Turbo) provide more feedback but after driving a X6M the actual handling is very similar and well the BMW interior makes the Porsches seem oldly austere. The X6M is in my view rather like a racing chesterfield lounge detached from the laws of physics, - very comfortable and satisfyingly quick. Just have to choose between and find the right X5/6M.... looking forward to it.Keen for any advice on what to look for/consider in regards to the pre-owned BWMs BTW. |

If you're buy an ///M I'd get a CPO'd vehicle. I don't follow the X6M but if you go for an X5M I'd personally get a 2013 with the optional LED headlights. |
