New guy
I'm new to the Fa"M"ily truckster. Bought an X5M pick it up Friday. Have had many M's but never an M with an X.
It made sense right now as I always have my 2 monkies with me on weekends or I'm golfing, and we get real winters. Was driving an x5 35i as a daily and liked it. Giving that one to my wife as her x3 was getting snug with the kids and all the crap you carry around when you have kids. So traded in her x3 and my M6. With the deal that in a year or so I pick up another M6 as well as keep the x5m. I was getting close to having to do the bearings. And had no time to enjoy it right now. So, went best of both worlds!! Here it is.... Time for mods (Hardest part was explaining to my 5 year old i traded his car in) The old M6 |

Congrats and welcome aboard! Don't mind the slowness in this area as there are not a lot of us here. Don't be afraid to post though as we will respond...eventually.
Btw your M6 was . I had a similar predicament in that my three kids, two of which were newborn twins at the time, would not fit in my old M3. Had to get rid of the M3, but the X5M is a perfect family replacement. The most practical impractical beast out there, especially after a velos tune. Good luck with everything and speed safely! |

Congrats! Glad it doesn't have the roof rails! I might be joining the club after this weekend; going to check out an X5M. My plan is to get the X5M, extend the warranty, and then get an M4 when the frozen colors and competition pkg becomes available.

Thanks everyone! Pick it up today! Looking forward to it. Took the 6 out for a good rip. And had a pretty quick commute today lol.Used some of the tires up And grabbed a bunch of pics with the little dudes.
So been reading through the forums, looks like the best place to grab the painted reflectors is IND? Black grills will be on it when I pick it up. |

Same here. I'm LOVING the way the X5M pulls and drives; handling ain't too shabby either. I've been an ///M car guy since 2003 and the M Division has yet to let me down. I know some people criticize BMW for slapping M badges on a lot of their vehicles or offering M-sport packages to standard vehicles. However, when the result is this good then I say continue to bring it on. Even though I've owned much faster cars (GT-R), I don't think I'll ever leave the M brand.

You are going to miss the V10 howl. I had a really hard time with this, the X5M seems a little soulless. I know I am going to be missing the V10 for a long time.
But the X5M seems to be a very practical M car, throwing down 700 plus HP with no problem. Enjoy!

Shhhhhhhhhhh!! I'm trying not to think of that lol
I agree I will, with exhaust my m6 sounded incredible, as well as the M5 I had before it. Let's make that the first rule of XM club... Don't mention the V10 But I am really enjoying this M, the practical side is awesome. I do want to do a tune and exhaust sooner than later though. And some cosmetic things, painted reflectors, lip etc. I'll wait for rims till next spring. Still on the fence about suspension. kW v3's or leave stock. I do have the go ahead to pick up another v10 in a year or so. Or a newer m6. So may stash some of the mods away that I stripped off. Would like to find a e63 M6 comp package. We had those in the great white north... Rare though |

I will buy another S85 and stuff it into a 135i and make a track car. That's my fix. Here is what I did right after buying the X:
