2013 X5 5.0i M Sport Brakes

Hey , if the brake light is on for the front brakes, do i just need to replace the pads or does the sensor need to be replaced with them. Just wondering what I need to order besides the pads to get this fixed.

I'd replace the pads and sensor for sure, and rotors too based on when they were replaced last.

I'm gonna replace the pads , front and rear, and the sensors in the front. Wait till it wears and then replace all of the rotors and pads with performance items. I think thats the best way to go at the moment.

If those rotors have already been through two sets of pads it's time to replace.

Does the outer edge of the rotor have a noticeable lip?

Garage List
You need to at least have those rotors resurfaced at an autopart store. If not you will lose a lot of braking power because the rotor to brake pad surface will not be even. You don't have to buy new rotors but the auto part store should be able to cut them and tell you if you are in spec.

Brembo Zinc plated rotors and Textar ePad or Akebono. Those would be my choices.

If brake dust is an issue for you but you like the OEM pad feel and initial bite, the Textar ePad offers exactly that. It's the new compound they are using for all the newer models.

One thing I forgot to mention is to avoid cross drilled or slotted. No real gain, chew through pads and traditionally are louder when braking.
