Parking lots are full of douche bags

I took my daughter to gymboree yesterday and as usual make sure I park as far away from the closest car as possible...I'm one of those guys who turns around and admires his car as I'm walking away from it, so I know for a fact there's not a scratch or dent on the truck or I would of noticed it

I come out of the gymboree class and immediately noticed something on my rear bumper from a distance...trying to stay calm and watch my mouth around my daughter I see my tow hook cover missing and dent on my rear bumper with the paint chipped

Cost me $85 from IND for a new painted tow hook cover...haven't had a chance to see how much to fix the bumper yet...thanks a lot douche bag!!!

Douche bag

It's probably a good thing that you didn't see it happen. I had my rear bumper fixed for the same thing on my 745, guy only charged me $250 for about a 8 out 10 job, was happy with it.

WTF. They hit you AND stole your cover? Douche and a thief.
I also park far away from everyone so I can imagine how you feel. I was quoted $600 - $800 over the phone from Gabriel Sports Car to repaint my bumper. Mine isn't too bad so I didn't get it done yet.

I'm not sure if the douche bag stole it or it fell off when they hit my bumper then tossed it in hopes I wouldn't notice...I came home and buffed out the red paint on my back bumper before I took the pic, already called my cousin who is NYPD to see if he can get some sort of video proof (since it happened in his precinct) so the douche bag can pay for the repairs...I'm going to Gabriel Sports Car Monday to get a quote

It's really hard sometimes to be positive toward humans. Yours is yet another clear example. Sorry, man.

I feel for you man. I had someone hit my driver side passenger door at work and work couldn't find out who did it. I had to get a new fucking door. Some people just don't give a shit and I hope karma bites them in the ass with sabertooth fangs.

I agree with you 100%...We work hard to buy nice things and people just don't give a shit, they're either jealous or too busy texting n driving

I know its not a major investment and nobody was hurt, its just a truck at the end of the day but still...

Not sure if insurance works the same, a lady merged onto the main street and side swept me me but drove off, I kept up with her to make her pull over, she made it seem like it was 100% my fault. She had no damages at all but my door handle was scuffed. Easy fix, buffed it off, I wanted to screw her over for screaming at me and name calling. Claimed it, but ICBC said its 50/50 so I would have to pay 150 (half of the deductible) to get it fixed. A witness came forward two days later, provided dash cam footage, I won 100%, ICBC gave me 75% of their estimate on damages ($300 cash), ladies insurance went up. I got what I wanted

I hope your cousin can help you out and you get it resolved fast. I do the exact same things as you to protect what we work hard for and enjoy and yet people have no respect for others property.

That sucks but should be easy to fix.

I would also contact Overseas Autobody in Hastings, NY. They put the OEM X6 M hood on my X5 M and did an amazing job. If you give them a call ask to speak with James (Dimi) and say that Dom with the Silverstone X5 M recommended them. James is a real car enthusiast, he has had multiple M cars, and works on tons on BMWs.

Install a dashcam with front and back cameras hardwired to the car's battery. I do this and leave the cams running when I'm parked in a parking lot.

Ask the stores in that lot for security footage. They will have it because of Gymboree and protecting the children.

Update: Got a call from my cousin today while at work so I couldn't really get into it, he was able to retrieve video from the bodega next door...told me it was a red Toyota with Virginia tags, looked to be a young woman driver from what he could make out of the blurry video. I'm waiting for a follow up call from his lieutenant, seems after running the tags she has a history of similar offenses
