Leather Dash & Comfort Seats Being Parted Out

You folks are going to hate the temptation, but I just found this on Craigslist:
http://rockford.craigslist.org/ptd/5370141043.html
I'm always interested to hear from the daring individual who takes on these retrofits, so if you go through the hassle and expense of either of these projects, you MUST share your story with all of us, please! Sorry to ruin your holiday weekend!

I did a full extended leather conversion on my E60 M5. A lot of work but was fun. This is tempting.

Why? The only difference is the HUD cutout that is easily diy'ed - you don't have to be precise as it's covered by a plastic trim piece anyway.

I'd get the seats if they were local - to check the leather match, etc.

I don't know. While I took apart the dash several times on my 98 Vette (HVAC mixing doors), it's not even close to the same build quality & materials as BMW. If you have a heated garage, buy the dash and live on the north side, I'd be happy to come over to have a look with you...

Dash is paid for and should be arriving sometime soon.

Can anyone recommend an LA shop equipped to do the swap?

How much did you end up paying for the dash (before shipping)?

Had to cancel the order. Here are the pics with my notes that I sent back to the seller. The dash is in poor quality . I will give the seller an A+ for honesty and integrity. He refunded the money immediately. Most sellers would have just sent the part and hoped that the buyer just takes it.

That's a bummer. One thing I will say is that most of the small imperfections will go away with some heat. When I did my E60 extended leather conversion there were a couple small imperfections from shipping that eventually went away with some heat.

Either way, it looks like there are more than just a few on that dash so its understandable.
