Thanks!
Oleg's work is addictive... I bought 3 different views of the X5M, one of the wife's SL500 and I gave a few as Christmas gifts. |

X looks great as always. Too bad they dont make the blackline lci tails like they do for the X6. Ever consider a debadge(with an ///m plate frame if its a must)? Maybe rear roundel with paint matched surround?

Feel like thats mostly reserved for people that don't have real M's but want people to think or wonder if it is an M.

Debadged every car I've had for cleanliness and symmetry, there was never an intention to misdirect. My brother picked up an AW M3 F80 a couple weeks ago. First thing he did was debadge the trunk lid and in my opinion it looks better. He doesnt need the premium badge to display to everyone because he knows the car speaks for itself and any true car person would know its the real thing.
Get where your coming from though, we know its done for that purpose quite often. I still say debadge it! Last edited by Deftronix; 02-09-2017 at 08:41 PM.. |

I also wish for backlines like X6... but as usual, BMW screwed the X5M owners by not offering that along with other cool things like the power dome hood. Thank you! Quote:
Does anyone have input regarding an Eisenmann axle back race exhaust with downpipes on our trucks? I've listened to tons of you tube videos, but I can't find anyone who has done this particular setup. There is also the Eisenmann stainless axle back vs. Akrapovic cat back titanium debate. Is the titanium Akra REALLY worth the price of admission? I also like my current Dimisa Stainless steel tips, but its the only bright piece on the truck (other than the roundels). On the other hand the Eisenmann comes with black tips, but they are only 3.0". If I should consider the Eisenman, I would like to change out their tips for Dimisa's 3.5" Black tips to go with the black badges. What do you guys think? |

But I'm still thinking black tips since the rest of my truck has black badges, etc. My only worry is that they may get lost visually... What do you say? Garage pic Last edited by gixxerboy63; 02-04-2017 at 01:19 PM.. |

You are still on stock exhaust right, but with downpipes? If so I recommend the black series Eisenmann sport. That way it will still control the cold start and not be obnoxious when cruising. It's a great pair with catless downpipes.
If you were stock downpipes then I would say go race. My M5 has the race on stock downpipes and I can already tell that when catless downpipes are added it will be too loud for me. |

No to coilovers. I drove an X5M with KWs that the owner was going to remove and return to stock and I wasn't impressed at all. Mine actually RODE and HANDLED better with the simple H&R 1.2 setup. I'm also happy with the height. It's lowered just enough to look aggressive and more "M" like, but not so much that it's blatently obvious to everyone. I'm OK with the tips... I'm actually content right now, which can be a dangerous place for me to be in. That's usually about the time I sell everything and move on to another project. But not this time (or at least not yet). it still puts a smile on my face each time I drive it. |
