Bridgestone Run-Flats were new for 2009
In looking at their website, it turns out that they released their third generation of run-flats in 2009. Their claim is that the comfort level is very close to the non run-flat type of tire.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the ride is rather good using the factory tires on my X6M. This link will take you to a press release describing the new technology: http://www.bridgestone.com/corporate...009030301.html |

Screw run flats, I went through 3 of these living in Atl (plenty of potholes), each time each tire failed to "run flat", the last time its happened I drove it to a wheel store, told them to put on a set of 19"s and never looked back.. those things are nothing but a pain in the butt...

Yes, the X6M comes with the same tires as the X6 with the sport package with 20 inch wheels. They are the Bridgestone Run Flats.

ah oh , my wife received a notice yesterday about the settling of a class action suit against BMWNA and Bridgestone for defective RF tires on her 2006 330i. Suit was about excessive wear and noise, she replaced them because of these issues. Hopefully ones used on X6M gave been improved.
