Stuck for a bit today..Limp Mode and error questions.
Received the following errors today in my X5m and had to pull off the road with a chugging engine.
Chassis Stabilization Malfunction ( DSC and Xdrive malfunction) Chassis Stabilization Malfunction( Engine Malfunction- operating at reduced output) Called dealer. They said exit vehicle, lock it then reenter and try and start. If it does and you can drive it drive home or nearest safe spot you are going and service asap. That worked and I was able to drive home. Will take it in on Monday, but what do those errors mean? Is this the dreaded LIMP MODE? |

Could be a battery issue. I have had these issues in my M3. Limp home mode could be many different issues

Were you doing anything before this happened? Disconnected battery? When the power is cut, I've seen these errors. They go away in about 500 yards of driving.

No battery issues.. I had a new battery put in last year to solve the low voltage issue. Just got car washed at the touchless car wash. was leaving and stopped at stop sign and made a left. Accelerated straight ahead to get on the freeway onramp. Just before I got to the turn to get on freeway it started lurching/chugging. Had to pull over to road side on the merge lane to freeway. Had car serviced last week for valves. Perhaps left over issues from that. Take it in tomorrow we will see.
