When does this bulb work?

I was checking my brake lights and wondered when does this bulb work? I have signal lights, brake lights and reverse lights and tail lights that all work. This bulb never did light up. Thank you.

It comes on during heavy braking. I coded mine to come on whenever I hit the brake no matter how hard I depress the brake.

The rear fogs come on when you hit the switch to turn them on

It's the wife's vehicle. I don't drive it much, maybe 5 times a year. I had no idea it had rear fog lights.

How do you activate the rear fog lights? Which button is it on the switch? With the US M3s, it was a inactive button, but you could make it work with a peg...

US models don't have the switch for it. It should already be preinstalled with bulb and wiring, on the M3 you put a small peg inside and it'll toggle the the fog button.

I posted the link right there in the thread for you all. US models need a new switch, as well as running one additional wire to the FRM module located by the driver's side footrest (behind the panel). There is an empty spot in the harness that you just push the pin into, and voila, you have rear fogs

That's funny you guys say we (US) have rear fogs, IF we install it separately, on our own, after delivery, with OE parts, wiring the new switch, etc! I'm a little slow catching up sometimes. Thanks for the info, nonetheless.

Thanks, but your link is a single post link, and that thread connected to it doesn't have a DIY on it. I've done it on my M3, just don't know how to do the FRM part...care to share the FRM DIY section ? Thanks

So this is a little more complicated than my M3. I have to do some splicing and rewiring

No splicing, you can buy a with the pins pre-installed. I bought it from ECS tuning, but I forget the part number, and then just put it in the spare slot on the clip on the harnes, plug one side to the switch, and one side to the FRM.
