It's all pointless without knowing the exact original MSRP $ tag when new.
X5 35i Base models were selling at 48K new in 2012. Granted, that one doesn't seem to be a Base model, but we need to make sure to compare apples to apples.
If that particular one had MSRP tag of 75K, could be a good deal.

I think you can do better. I recently purchased a 2012 35d with 11,000 miles a couple more options than you listed for 48k. MSRP was around 67k. With the body change coming you should be able to find a better deal on a used 2012.

good to know - I found CPO '12 35d with 68,625 sticker - 10k mls - HUD, DSP sound, most all the bells. On dealer lot for 58900. Seems high to me.. build date of 12.20.11

Wow, that is way high. About $10K too high. I wouldn't pay more than $49K for that car.

Yup (saying it with sadness, realizing depreciation hit taken by my own diesel as well).
With 68K MSRP, a person could have taken that x5 off the lot for 58K after all discounts when new. Now the dealer is selling it for that price in hope to catch a fool.

Yeah, depreciation is a major problem when buying these big expensive BMW's brand new. Percentage-wise, they don't really depreciate more than any other car, but 15% on a $65K X5 hurts the wallet a lot more than 15% on a $20K Honda.

I just sold a 2007 Honda Civic. I paid $13K for it, and sold it for $10,600 four years and 60,000 miles later (but, it was a (reliable) piece of crap and I hated it).

Bought a 35 D brand new with more options that the one you state above. Mine had a sticker of just over $64k and I bought it for $56.5k. So if you equate the two you should get a better deal than that. They do have good resale value though.

Last September when I bought my diesel BMW was running a $5K rebate on any diesel purchased before the end of September 2012. Just my 2 cents!

I just bought a 2012 with similar options ($64,000 MSRP according to the warranty printout) and 22,000 miles for $46,000 at a Ford dealer that had taken it in on trade. Why one would trade an X5 for a Ford I don't know...
Based on what the local BMW dealers were asking for 2012 X5's off leases with similar option I think I got a very good deal.

I ended up not buying the X5 and opt for a new 2013 Sport version X5 3.5 instead. I received about $6300 off MSRP. Just waiting for it to be delivered to the dealership, so I can pick it up this weekend.
