I had them on my R32. They lasted 33k miles. I drive hard. AS Dunlop before these lasted me 20k.

Moral is: 540 A A on an AS Continental DWS is about equal to 1.5 more tread wear than a 220 A B in Dunlop AS tire.

Thank you for your response. I have another question. Did you have any vibration problems? I think I read somewhere on this forum that someone had that problem.

I've got dws on my x5 in 20". The best tire I've had so far for the x5. Currently on 25k (km) and still plenty of tread. In comparison I had yokohamas on it prior and they only lasted 20k km. at 10k in heavy rain they were aqua planing really bad, quite scary. No such problems with the dws.The ride is comfortable, very quiet and grip is excellent. Would definately buy again.

I like my set as well, but I only have about 2000 miles on them so far.

These were solid tires: no bubbles, little or no aqua planing. Very good in a few bad snowstorms we had here. Lasted a solid 2 years. However, they are not performance tires at any point in the year. And they definitely wore out sooner than the 540 would indicate. Suddenly after 2 years, the DW disappeared. The S disappeared from the tread after 1.5 yrs. (there is a DWS on the tread to guide you on how much is left to handle Dry, Wet and Snow. )

In a hot day they are loose on the pavement and the car feels imprecise at the wheel. However, in freezing temp they are solid.

When I removed these and put on Michelin PS2 it felt like the car was reborn. The turn in, everything was great again.

The DWS is a multipurpose all season and it is cheap. If you can afford it get this for winter and a dedicated summer tire set, too.

I didn't know PS2s were available for X5 20" wheels. Where did you source these tires? TIA

I'm curious too. Also whether they are suitable for a 2+ ton SUV and how long they last with 220 treadwear...

I have an X5M and a VW R32. The R32 had AS Dunlops, then I put DWS (had them on 2 yrs) then put on PS2.

My X5M has the stock RFT Bridgestone.

Sorry for the confusion.

The pros of the DWS are rain and snow characteristics are great. But it is a bad tire for aggressive dry driving.

Also looking at it for my X5M winter option.
