Codes, looking for input
This is my first post here and hopefully it’s more helpful that confusing, for those down the line.
X5, 2011, n55 with 120000 kilometres. 30000 in the last year. Always run on 91octane, oil changes at 8000 km I’ve owned this vehicle for one year now and last week it stalled on me, while in park for roughly 3-4 minutes. Half check engine light that went away on startup. Runs fine ever since. I’ve noticed lately that upon startup in the morning, the exhaust valve is open and the truck is very loud and makes huge burbles at shifts.(I love it, but it’s not normal). So, I scanned my truck with my icarly and got the following info: Fault: mixture too lean Code 002bc0 Fault: rail pressure sensor Code 002bf4 Truck seems to run well and the codes haven’t come back since I cleared them. What should be my next step? Should I just replace the rail pressure sensor, since it’s cheap? Thank you for any input based on experience or expert ease. Bruce Ps. Love the truck! |

Thank you for the reference PDF.
In support of the PDF, I guess I was just curious to see if anyone with a similar truck/engine combination has encountered this issue(stalling at idle with this code) and what their solution may have been. Thanks! |

Just based on what you said I would check the injectors and high pressure fuel pump. Also I remember a lot of people talking about high pressure fuel pump failing but that might have been for the N54 motor.
If you have the ISTA+ software you could run tests on both injectors and pump. I would be leaning towards the pump. |
